WOYWW : Life Is Better At The Beach !

Well I was a "football widow" all day on Saturday and had the whole day to myself !

So I set out at 7am and headed down on the Gower to Oxwich Beach - the tide was rolling in fast but there was still time to walk for a couple of hours on the tide line scavenging shells !

I had a bit of a plan to alter a small sturdy box which Much Beloved had thrown into the re-cycling - it had had a half bottle of Jura Single Malt in it and just called out to me for new life !!

So with the shells glued firmly in place it all got a "paint-over" and a rub down with Treasure Gold !

The whole purpose was to create a box to stop my stamp acrylic blocks keeping tumbling over my work-desk ! So far, so good !
This weekend I also did a bit of other crafting - a card to celebrate the birth of a bonny girl to one of the chaps who works for me ...

I have "R" this month in Lynda & my Alphabet ATC Challenge - and Rainbow's came to mind !

And one more page in my Journal 52 challenge - this one about Travelling - quote courtesy of St Francis of Assisi !

Well that's me for this week !
Have a great crafty weeks ! Ali xx

  1. That long shell at the bottom of your box is beautiful and so perfect! Love what you created here. Nice to have time to yourself to walk and create.

  2. Lovely projects Ali especially the card. Now if you'll excuse me i am off to ahem, catch up on some ATC's!

  3. A great busy week there Ali. Lovely box - well done.
It's years since I was at Oxwich and the bay there - my very first Girl Guide camp was there. We all had a midnight swim! It is so very beautiful. Took our children there in the caravan in later years.
    Take care. God bless.

  4. the beach looks gorgeous! I am staggered that your MB would discard that box without asking if you could use it first, lol!! It looks fab. Helen 17

  5. I wish I leaved as close to the beach, but it takes me many hours to get to one.
Your cards and your shell box are very cool!

  6. Beautiful Oxwich, I love it. Though, if I had to choose my favourite, then it's Caswell for me...memories of family days there are very special :-)
Love the altered box, it's gorgeous and the rainbow cards too!
    Hugs, LLJ 10 xx

  7. I'm afraid if I lived close to the beach everything else would go undone as I spent hour after hour strolling along. I love the box you transformed to a useful piece!

  8. I'm afraid I would be the same as Glenda, luckily its about an hour's drive for us to the East coast.
Love the box it's a really great idea.

  9. Oh what fun! Now I would have to drive at least 12 hours to get to a beach--but I LOVE the beach, walking on it and picking up shells. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #51

  12. Looks like a fun day, and so good of you to make the project you want to make right away! (That box would be lying between my crafting stuff for weeks, or be used undecorated while it's waiting to be decorated...) Looks lovely!
