WOYWW - Cards Finally Finished - I Hope !

Well having plagued you all for weeks with nothing but Christmas cards, this past weekend was a final frenzied attempt to finish enough to send to everyone on our Christmas Card List !

Much beloved headed to football Saturday afternoon so I lugged all my supplies down to the conservatory & spread out over the whole dining table !

It made creating SO MUCH easier to have everything to hand & made me envy those of you that have much bigger desks or work-benches than I do !
It was a lovely sunny Winter's weekend - so it was a pleasure to sit in the brightness of the conservatory beavering away !
Have to admit I did end up with backache after sitting there for a few hours each day - but productivity was high & I finished what was needed !!!

Not sure I would do this again - but having set myself the challenge it has been fun to accomplish it - and as I can seldom resist buying some new Christmas Stamps each year it has been such a good way for actually using them !

More mono-chrome with a slash of red - love these Card-io Stamps & I used a couple of Clarity circular stamps too ...
A couple more Reindeer to pull the sleigh !
And I am not sure of the official collective noun for a group of Polar Bears - but I have decided that "A Flurry of Snow Bears" suits me just fine !
Here a card with Chloe's stamps inspired by her project book ..

And finally all the cards made .... just all need to be written now !!!!
Another project in itself !

Our clever crafting friend Gill bought in her Advent project to show Lynda & I at Craft Club last week - isn't it just lovely !
Her young Grandson comes for his teatime visit once a week - so they will be opening one of the 4 Advent Chests each week until the Big Day - we think he'll love it - we certainly did and wanted to show you all her super project !

And one more thing I wanted to share - the sun was rising as I stepped out of the house this week to find the bush outside the front door already adorned ! The spiders must have decided that it was time for them to put their decorations up already ! Nature never ceases to surprise me with it's beauty in the most unexpected moments !
Have a great crafty week !
Ali xx

  7. Can I come round to yours next year to get all my cards done? I started in January but still not quite finished! Yours look super. There looks to be room for me in your conservatory!
Love that advent scene. My Nativity scene is up with home made candles from our own bees!! Love the smell of the candle burning.

  9. Thanks for the visit earlier Ali. Love your conservatory - great space to work in. Love your Christmas cards, I actually enjoyed making mine this year! I made them in fours and used virtually every single Christmas supply I already owned - sweet. The scene made by your friend is stunning! Cx #44

  12. What a beautiful creative space you have, Ali. It looks as if you have a lovely lot of light, and it all looks very organised. Lots going on, too - well done with all those cards.

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. Glad you enjoyed my astronomy page - I was pleased how it turned out! Thank you for your good wishes too.

  13. Hi Ali, thanks for visiting, yes I have been busy - when I was well enough! Your cards are gorgeous, lovely stamps, and what a sweet advent project. The spider's web is beautiful, I am fascinated by them too.

Oh I forgot to tell everyone the new machine even has a couple of steam programs for freshening up clothes or dry clean clothes, and for softening clothes and making them easier to iron! Also it weighs the clothes and used the correct amount of water! Did I say that already? Pretty clever machine I think.

  15. Oooo, those Christmas stamps you have are wonderful - and the cards you've made are equally fabulous! I especially love those in the first 2 photos... I may need those stamps! What a lot of hard work you did - a huge selection of cards!
I used to make all my own Christmas cards - and all other occasions too - but I just don't have time these days. I usually manage a few special ones, but the rest are bought. This year, I've been buying cards from artist friends, in advance, so I have a small stash of lovely, special cards, for good friends and family!

The conservatory is a great place to work - all that light! Mind you, although you envy those of us with a permanent craft space, there's a lot to be said for having to bring down only what you need, for a temporary table set-up... My desk(s) are in permanent chaos!

  16. Congrats!!!!! What a great work, you can be proud of yourself!!! Awesome cards!
Your temporary workspace in the conservatory is beautiful, I love the light there. Thanks for visiting earlier.
    Cheers

  18. OH WOW, those monchrome cards are amazing, just fabulous!!! I know the backaches from sitting at my desk too long (although I have a good chair, I catch myself working in a stand up position all the time, bending over the table... nót good, but I do it almost automatically and it's hard to loose that habit!) I hope your weekend will be warm, cosy and relaxing. "Watch your back" ;) Happy (belated) woyww and a hug from Holland. Marit #32

  19. HI Ali, wow is all I can say! Look at all those cards... and those stamps! I've never heard of the company so now, thanks, I just have to seek them out! I need more stamps like I need a hole in the head but when did we ever let "need" become a factor?! LOL!

That spider web you captured is totally amazing. You could make prints of that and sell them! I would buy one!!! hint, hint :D

Sorry I'm late getting around on my WOYWW hopping but I am one of the tortoises in the world :D Oh before I forget, you mentioned all the writing for your Christmas cards... I have a friend who actually types up a little letter filled with the high points of the year and tucks it inside of each Christmas card so all she has to do is sign the card! Just a thought...
Hugs and hope you are keeping up with the holiday chaos...

  21. What a lovely collection of handmade cards and I know what you mean about being able to spread out across a larger table. My craft room desk is diddy (just over 12 inches useable space) but when I sew on the dining room table it makes me wish for a MUCH larger table!!
Thanks for visitng my desk already
