WOYWW - Busy Weekend - Still Journalling !

We had a busy weekend - up at 5am and away before 6 for the 3 1/2 hour journey to get to my MIL's new flat, to do what we could to help her settle in !
So we had a busy time running errands & I spent a couple of hours balanced on a step ladder putting up pictures !
It looked much more home-y after I'd finished !

Saturday night we stayed in a grim motel - mould on the bathroom ceiling & the bathroom door so damply warped it wouldn't shut, plastic under the sheets on the lumpy bed and a carpet that made me eternally grateful to have remembered to take my slippers !
We have vowed we won't be staying there again !

So it was almost a pleasure to be back up before 6 again & on the road to Manchester ! Much Beloved had been lucky in the ballot to be invited to the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association Christmas party.- he got to meet all the players and have a shirt signed.

I was on duty taking his photo with each of them - and praying that the photos would all come out okay - or it could have been a long walk home !!
I actually got in this one with Captain Wayne Rooney !

So with all that going on there wasn't much crafting happening as you can imagine but I am making sure that I am keeping up with my JYC Christmas Journal.

I know from creating Journals in previous years that the important thing is to write your entry for that day's page or you quickly fall behind. - you can actually make the pages at any time, so that's not the important bit to stay on top of your Journal !

A little craft shopping did sneak in !
We have a Secret Santa at work I have bought an "N" to make a "Finnabar style" gift for the lady I have been allocated !
I might have succumbed to an Andy Skinner stencil whilst I was in the store !
And a utility buy - more glue sticks !
Have a great crafty week ! Ali xx

  1. (am sending this again as pc crashed..) Shame about the ropey hotel but yay for the chance to meet the players (even if it's the wrong team!) Hope the secret santa gift goes well. Helen 4

  2. Happy WOYWW. You have had a busy week. Hope your MIL is settled in nicely. Look at you two - meeting the football royalty! Even I knew that was Wayne Rooney! Great tip for the journalling and one I need to remember. Ali x #13

  3. What a week! Well done on the picture hanging and the photos. I don't know how you have had the time to even do the writing part of your journal - but congrats that you have! How sad that motels allow themselves to get so yukky. I'd be ashamed to have guests if my place were in that state!
    Take care. God bless.

  4. Sounds like you have been super busy and lovely pics to prove it. Good to see you got some shopping in and please post a pic of the letter when you finish the project.

  5. You had a very busy week! I'm very curious to see how that letter N is going to look when it's finished. I also want to decorate cardboard letters but I'm still looking for inspiration.

P.S.: don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a bracelet and earrings jewelry set!

    Greetings, Sofie # 31

  6. Glad your MIL has settled in ok - hard work but so worth it. That is some visit DH has had - wonderful memories.

  7. Wow! Great photo of the Much Beloved (this always reminds me of Sarah Kennedy, who always used to call her husband Much Beloved as she didn't want to mention his nameon the radio) with Wayne Rooney. I bet he loved every minute of it.
    Have a great week,

  8. Hi Ali, mmm Rich does look very pleased with himself, a bit like steve went he met Stuart Pierce in Portugal.

  10. Busy Busy , but all good. Hope your MIL likes her new place. Well Done on getting great photos for hubby ( of course now you have to scrap them!) Have a great week - hope you get chance to play with the new stash! Soojay xx 15

  11. Nice stencil...bet you get bags of use from that! You sort of think that by booking a room you'll have a bit of niceness to make a weekend treat while you're helping out, huh. And top top tip for December daily...

  12. Glad MIL is settled. That hotel doesn't sound like much lol. It's always difficult to pick one. I read review after review and never seem to make my mind up. Luckily I've had mostly good experiences!

  13. I would have been by sooner, but my life took a major meltdown today when my washing machine hose broke. After I got all the water and mess cleaned up, I was off to buy a new hose and install it.

Sounds like it's been busy at your place, too. I've never been much for journaling, but I would love to make a JYC some year. Glad you are able to keep on top of things, even during a busy schedule.

    Happy belated WOYWW from #1.
