WOYWW - Mr Rhodri Joggles !

Well not much crafty action on the desk this week as we spent the weekend away back in England. We went to a hotel near Badminton so I could go to the open day at Jekka McVicar's Herb Farm.
I have seen her plenty of times on the telly at Chelsea & read her books etc & had wanted to go for ages.
They were having an "open weekend" & we booked for a workshop on cuttings.
Jekka was very welcoming & approachable - even having gardened for 30 odd years I still learnt loads of tips !!
We dodged the rain & bought some unusual herbs & so Sunday was planting them out when we got home !

Last week I had my "blank" art doll figure arrive & he and I have been chatting all week about who he wants to be !
He has a name - Mr Joggles - as he was bought from the Joggles website & Rhodri because he comes from Rhode Island - and now lives in Wales - so the name seemed appropriate all round !
I thought I would have a play in my journal to decide how to dress him - I took his photo - printed it 4 times & just played around with some costume ideas !!
I'm leaning towards either the Gardener or The Eccentric Steampunk Inventor routes - all ideas welcome !!!

Also on the desk this week - on the right is the card for Dad's birthday & on the left 2 new Cuttlebug plates - my old ones are cut to ribbons ! And some stickers for vintage style pages for my Mother In Law's 80th birthday scrapbook pages - otherwise not much going on sadly !
If anyone knows where the weeks go could they let me know !!

Anyway - a happy crafty week to you all !

  2. So much gorgeous craftyiness going on. Rhodri is fab - he would make a sexy gardener. That Michael Powell stamp is one of my favourites (subscribed to Craft Stamper magazine to get it free!). I must get a new Cuttlebug B Plate - one of mine is bent and very difficult to get through. Happy WOYWW. Ali x #61

  5. I'm another one green with envy over the Jekka visit, love my garden but I can't do as much now before my back complains. Love Mr Joggles - I'd go for the steam-punk look, lots of scope for decoration, rust, shabby etc.

  6. Why gardener OR steampunk inventor? Why not combine the two. You could create a new subgenre: gardenpunk! Love the journal pages; it's always great to see someone experimenting and playing.

  9. Love your Mr Joggles and what a fabulous name. I think you should go with gardening - that is from a real Steampunk fan. Am sure you could incorporate something Jekka into it.
Will be interesting to see which way you do go - you could of course have a Steampunk Gardener?
Love your "try out" book - what a brilliant idea.
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet #21 xx

Thank you for stopping by today! I used to tell my daughter to ask before using things, but now, I figure what's the use, I can always get more stuff, but only have one lovely daughter digging through my art stash!

  19. Hi, it's me again.
ATC storage - just seen your question on Vonny's blog. I store mine in pockets bought from WH Smith. They are intended for kids trading cards, A4 size with 9 pockets per sheet and the sheets fit into a ring binder. Mind you I have a lot of ATCS as swaps were even more popular a few years ago.

  23. I think Mr. Rhodri Joggles looks best in the top hat. It is very fitting for a man of his social standing. I understand he is well versed in the arts, but has an understated mischievous side as well!

  24. what an exciting project! the steampunk inventor sounds great, with gears and all sorts for him to hold maybe and stuff coming out of pockets. but gardener sound great as well. i guess you have to ask him who he is (and figure out what you have in your stash that will fit).
    happy WOYWW!

  27. What beautiful old photos. Your MIL is going to be thrilled with the album when it’s finished. I’m working on a heritage album too but I’ve not done anything to it for a while. There’s a link to it at the side of my blog if you want a look. It’s called Family Footprints in the Sands of Time.
The whole point of Distress Inks that that the react with water so I don’t think I would chance using Distress inks on something like. You might be able to find some sort of fixative you can get to go over the top of the finished bag to protect it but I’m still not sure I would want to chance it.

Thanks for stopping by this week.

    Happy Crafting!
