Hi hope you WOYWW's are all well ?
Just a few art journalling things going on on the desk this week - not much time for anything else what with work & an Amy MacDonald concert in Cardiff on Sunday !
The only thing other than journalling is some poppy stamping I am preparing to decorate the November page of my Book of Days - to commemorate Remembrance day ..
I have just finished a page to enter in the House of Bears literature inspired challenge- this month is inspired by Dracula - with the challenge of using red and or bats !
I blended this red colour to match a leaf from my acer tree ... and the page is about why these spooky stories appeal to our Dark Side ....
Those of you who have visited me before may know that my lovely husband has a number of serious health problems - and last week, having been experiencing shortness of breath, he has been having tests .. the doctor now wants to send him for more tests in case he has a heart murmur ...
I am so sorry for him - with the possibility of yet another health issue to deal with ... as I was lying awake worrying about it all - this phrase came into my mind & I felt the need to create a page ...
It's a bit personal but I hope you don't mind me sharing it with you ?
Thank you so much for joining in with the bears this month. We love your interpretation of our challenge. The dark side does seem to appeal to us doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteHope your hubby gets an all clear from his tests soon, your journal page is very heartfelt, and this is what journalling is all about isn't it?
Ali, love the journal pages..all of them. Will keep dear hubby in prayers for clear test results. You heartfelt page brought tears to my eyes it's just lovely.

Happy WOYWW. Great journal pages. You inspire me to give it a go myself, when I find the time! Hope that your hubby is ok. Health really is annoying when it isn't good. Ali x #55
ReplyDeleteWonderful Dracula page. Your moon and bat look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteMy Dracula page is here.
I hope your hubby is OK and all's well soon.
love that page!! Hope your hubby is ok - apparently I have a murmur too, only found out when I had some eye problems (one thing led to another) a couple of years ago.... they didn't worry about it though. Helen, 4
ReplyDeleteHi Ali,

I'm sat reading my WOYWW blogs on my sick bed this week but have my mask on so you don't catch anything. I'm enjoying reading what everyone is up to this week [it's better than reading magazines :-) ]. I'm leaving a copied comment so you know I've called by because my hands are too weak and shaky to keep typing out my comments this week.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
A x #93
That is such a beautiful thought, and lovely how you have put it across. My sister has a heart murmur, and had a hole in her heart since she was born,(still has it) she's now 50, and has had three children, so it's not always a serious outlook.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #90
ReplyDeleteWow! two lovely journal pages and a creative looking desk - what a treat! Hope hubby's tests are going to be helpful! Chris 126
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Dracula pages, and the heart one is just lovely - thank you so much for sharing it, and I do wish your husband well in all the tests and outcomes...

ReplyDeleteMe again...sorry i wasn't clear ennough...the hoards only get a chocolate bar each...
ReplyDeleteThe treat bags are for the grandkids...they get a half dozen mini chocolate bars and 2 full choc bars each (and I will still get scolded) whoops!!!
What a lovely sentiment - I do hope your husbands latest health issues are soon resolved.
ReplyDeleteLovely poppy images.
I hope you enjoyed the Amy MacDonald concert - I think she's great.
Beautiful journal pages Ali, and a lovely sentiment. I hope your husbands health issues can be controlled.
ReplyDeleteI love your journal page. I think that is what journaling is all about, our family's, the good times and the bad. That is what makes up family's. I think it's the bad times that bind us together. I pray, your hubby, feels better and the shortness of breath goes away. That is such a horrible feeling and a scary feeling (or it was for me).
ReplyDeleteBless you both,
Robin
Great looking desk and I love the journal pages. I think the heart murmur saying is very upbeat and awesome! Thanks for sharing and dropping by my blog! Have a great week! Vickie #37
ReplyDeleteThe heart sentiment is lovely and just right for the situation you find yourself in. My husband experienced the same 5 years ago, ended up having a big heart op but is fitter and feels better now than he did before...so keep smiling, it can be sorted out :)
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ #68 xx
Loving all the crafty eye candy! Thanks for popping by earlier!

Aww....! I love your heart murmur page. It is very sweet and heartfelt. Your spooky page looks great too. You have a lot of stuff on your desk. I'll bet it is all wonderful to play with.
ReplyDeleteI love the spooky page ...and the heart page has such feeling. I do hope things are not as bad as you fear ...hugs xx#101
ReplyDeleteI most sincerely love your upbeat take on the potential heart problem...it shows that deep down in your sub conscious, you're ready to help him face whatever the outcome....and that's love. I love the idea of your poppies strewn throughout your November pages.
ReplyDeleteAww Ali, it must be so difficult having to face yet another possible health problem for your husband and you page is so touching.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not always easy to share what you’re thinking with other people but I know it sometimes helps to put your feelings into words and doing it through your art is a special way to record them. Thanks for sharing such special thought with us.
Glad my ‘hopping’ photos brought back some family memories for you too.
Happy Crafting!

Hope everything goes well with your husband. Nothing is more bad than health problems. The page you've made with the heart is beautiful, especially you've told the story behind. I wish you and your husband all the best. Thanks for visiting my blog. Bye, Franka
ReplyDeleteYour journal page with the heart murmur piece is so beautiful and touching - thank you for sharing it with us. I do hope the tests don't show anything too serious, and that your husband will soon be feeling better. I often think it's worse for the relatives of those of us with health problems - we live with it every day and learn how to manage it, but our loved ones watch helplessly from the sidelines and feel very inadequate and worry a lot!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of doing a Remembrance page for your journal. Poppies are so beautiful too - I love your blog background with the poppy seed heads - very striking and unusual, and a fabulous colour.
Thanks for your comment on my blog - I've finished one box of photos - still loads more to do though, and also the problem of having lost 2 or 3 CDs full of important ones... That's the problem with tidying up - you can't find anything!!
Happy belated WOYWW,
