We have been in North Wales a lot to support his Mum and trying to tackle the mountain of admin that seems to surround winding up someone's worldly affairs.
We headed home early on Sunday morning & amongst washing, gardening & cooking, I managed to snatch a couple of hours at my craft desk - being away so much I had been experiencing that edgy, pining feeling you get when you can't do anything creative because real life demands your attention !
Well that's how it gets to me anyway !
So I was determined to get this month's Alphabet ATC completed for Lynda & my monthly challenge - I adore Poppies so it was an obvious choice for "P" this month !
I had decoupaged a couple of House of Zandra images several week's ago but finally got them made up into cards at last !
And I had admired a sea inspired scene on Emma Williams blog a few weeks ago so decided to have a go at my own interpretation for the "Under The Sea" challenge in the Journal 52 project.
So all of this restored a bit of calm to my brain & was a welcome distraction !
Next week we have to face the funeral - so may not be here to join you !
Take care Ali xx
I know what you mean about having to do something creative to restore calm to your brain. Must be how we "tick". Will be thinking of you guys this week again as you say your official goodbye. Love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling, I havent been able to craft for months now but thats my fault hahaha

Im so sorry for your loss Ali - and know only too well the crushing weight of the admin...it seems never ending doesnt it, I bet your Ma-in-Law is so grateful for your help and support. Im the same, if I cant do something/anything crafty, I get the fidgets.
ReplyDeleteAnd, after the small show at Newbury where I bought two stamps of hers, your reference is the first I've heard of Zandra....and am loving her stuff!
We all need to step out of the chaos of life now and again, you have produced some great work there.

Hi Ali,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you were able to squeeze in some crafting time. It definitely helps calm my nerves, even if it's knitting. There's something about the sound that the needles make that calm me, almost like a chant.
Take care of you and yours.
Happy belated WOYWW
Peace, Kay (65)
