WOYWW - Sad Week

Hi, it has been a sad week as Rich's Step-Father passed away last Wednesday.
Although he had been ill, it was all very sudden in the final days & came as a shock to us all.
So we have been in North Wales much of last week to support his Mum & help with all the things that need to be done to these times.

So obviously crafting hasn't been high on the agenda & my desk is rather a messy heap of "stuff" - mainly freebies from magazines on the top  !

And a new Poppy die on the right there & the note book has a list of the Journal 52 topics.

I am way behind but not stressing about it - all in good time !
So what if it takes me into next year !

Last week, before all the sadness, we had had a box card session at Scrapclub - everyone had a go at making one in their own style or theme !
Some were Christmas & some for birthdays - here they are all in various stages of construction !

Here are a couple of happy signs I saw at the weekend - just the thing when I needed something to make me smile !

And this cute Owl appealed to me too - might have a go at making one at some stage !

And just as fascinating - we spotted several of these amazing jelly fish right by the beach as we went out for a breath of fresh air ...

Forgive me if I don't get to reciprocate many visits this week but we are heading back North later this week to help make the funeral arrangements etc. ...
Take care & catch up next week. Ali xx

  1. Happy WOYWW. I have been absent for several weeks and not sure if I will be participating tomorrow yet either (blogging is not high on my list at the moment), but just wanted to send my condolences for your sad loss. Lovely to see that you can find some positive things to photograph - the owl is gorgeous. Ali x

  2. Hi Ali,

Sorry to hear about your loss. It doesn't matter if someone has been ill for a long time or not, it's still a shock when it happens.

So glad you got the owl; he'll be a comfort for you. I love the shot of the jellyfish. They are amazing creatures.

I'll be posting later for WOYWW.
    Hugs,
    Kay

  4. So sorry to hear about your loss, Ali...there's no easy way to get through these things, is there? Just keep going and take enjoyment from the small things, like that piggy sign. Love it! Ad the owl is fab, I don't know if I'd have enough patience to do all that sating stitch around the appliqué though!

  5. Hugs to you both. It is always such a shock when someone goes, even when they have been sick. Hope his mom is doing ok.

  6. Sorry to hear of the death of your father in law. I do trust that, within your grieving, you will be all able to remember things which made you smile and laugh. Trust the funeral goes well - a thanksgiving for a person held dear in your heart.
Take care as you travel around Wales. It's quite a journey from the one end to the other - things called mountains get in the way of the straight route!!
The boxes are stunning, and the owl really cute.
    God bless you all.
