WOYWW - Visiting Not Crafting !

Well no crafty action on the desk this week as I was away all weekend in North Wales to visit my MIL.

We had a smooth journey there & back thankfully - which is always a bonus given the twisty mountain roads for much of the way !

So on my desk this week are just a couple of craft magazines, my daily diary and the new Tablet I treated myself to a couple of weeks ago.

On Sunday morning we went out to the promenade to watch the sun rise .. the light was amazing, vividly bright and throwing everything on the shore into stark mono-chrome silhouettes.

Uncannily enough the topic for this weeks Journal 52 is Silhouette - so although I haven't had a chance to journal yet I have got some photos to inspire me !

We saw the morning slip from darkness to light as the tide flowed outwards ...

The sun lifted over the mountains and started to illuminate the tide line ...

We have amazing huge sandy beaches here in Wales and when the tide goes out the beach goes on forever ...

The board-walk seems to stretch for miles out towards the receding tide ...
I decided to make myself a silhouette against the rising sun !!

Have a great week !

  3. Yep, there's no easy way of getting from South to North Wales, is there? You either have to wiggle on the A roads, or go the very long way round on the motorways! LOvely pics of the sunrise...you almost look like a goddess raising the sun in the last shot!

  14. Your photos are amazing! Aren't you a good photographer! Yes, Wales is great. We used to visit Wales a lot when we lived in the UK.
Thanks for visiting my page yesterday where I mentioned the Annie Sloan paint. If you can buy it locally I would certainly have a go at it. (I have to transport it in my suitcase having bought it in Holland and having to explain to airport security etc....) Just buy any little piece of furniture or stool at a car boot sale and buy a small pot of paint and off you go. If you like the result go back to the shop and buy the wax to finish it off. You'll be hooked in no time!
    Have a great week,

  15. Despite no craft projects in sight, you table is still full of some fun stuff. I'm behind on my magazine reading as well. I love your shots from the beach. The first one with the boats in particular is stunning!

  16. Ali, what a delightful little post... thanks for sharing all the beachy photos from Wales, as here in the far north of Canada... we walk on all our water right now! Smile...thanks so much for popping in to visit me in my studio.... (hugs) Lynne #69

  17. Thank you so much for the photos of Wales! I've been there on vacation years ago (ohmy... now that I think of it, it was 18 years ago!!!) and I fell in love with the landscape and beaches immediately! Luckely, I live near the beach/norhtsea again (I moved back to where I was born and raised last year) but still, Wales is on my 'to go visit again' list. Thanks for the visit to my blog earlier. Happy (belated) woyww and enjoy the weekend! Marit #39
