WOYWW - Scrappy Sunday !

Happily we finally have some sunshine to enjoy and a warm day !
Great to be able to eat our meal outside at the garden table and potter about watering the pots etc.

Sunday was a different story - it poured from before dawn until early afternoon so after swimming I hunkered down at my desk and scrapped my memories of last week's trip to Bergen .. great feeling to have got on with the scrapping and have it all safely in my album !

I also had a go at a couple of cards ... one for a friend in the Netherlands who has just had a baby

and a birthday card for my Mum - not to sure if I like this one - a bit busy maybe ? The colours haven't come out very well on this photo either - it is quite a nice vivid blue in real life !

Has anyone else noticed that in the past few weeks there seem to have been an explosion of colouring books for adults in the shops ? I have seen it both here in the UK and when I was in Norway - I am not to sure if it is something for me, but I saw this little book of postcards with " The Secret Garden" theme - so I thought this might be a way to give it a go and they might even work as part of an Art Journal page ...

Anyway, heading to Ireland for work for the next few days, then Much Beloved has bought us tickets to see Fleetwood Mac in concert on Saturday night - so we should have fun !

Have a great crafty week yourselves !
Ali xx

  2. Looks like your scrapbook entries are filled with all kinds of memories. I especially liked seeing the streets, but the zoo was nice, too.

I'm jealous that Fleetwood Mac is coming to your area. Wish they were coming to the US. Happy WOYWW from #3.

  3. That baby boy card is just perfect! I'm not sure that colouring is for me either (Zentangling definitely wasn't!) but those postcards are a great size and you can use them afterwards. One thing I've learnt about myself is that my crafting results have to have some sort of use, otherwise it annoys me!

  8. I enjoyed looking at your scrapbook pages and then went back to your previous post about your holiday in Bergen (I had missed that one last week, sorry).
The cards you made are gorgeous.
Yes, I have noticed the colouring for adults. I have actually bought a book but haven't done much colouring as I have found I don't have that many pencils or markers (Unlike some) to make it really pretty, so we'll see.... The postcards though seem a good idea.
    Have a great week,

  10. Gorgeous layouts from your Bergen trip, Ali! You are very disciplined! Once stuff is on my blog I rarely bother to make "real" albums of holidays these days. I love your two blue cards - really pretty. The dinky little birds on the baby one are adorable. Both will go down a treat, I know! Adult colouring books are very popular just now. It's a relaxing passtime, and some of the designs are fabulous, I feel I ought to draw my own Zentangles to colour, really... Perhaps I ought to draw a whole lot and publish them in a book!!

Thank you for your lovely comment. I had treatment #3 yesterday and it has knocked me sideways, but not as bad as #2, with the reduced dosage. I even managed to spend an hour or two in the studio this a.m. finishing a card I'd started with my new masterboard (see my WOYWW post and the one before) before I started to feel shaky and exhausted and sick, but after taking some of the meds they gave me for that, and after a light lunch, I feel a lot better. So hopefully things will be better this 3 weeks. After the next one I will be half way through the course! That makes me feel a lot better about things.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
