In September I am sharing a birthday family lunch with my Aunt.
We both have Big "0"'s birthdays in the same month - so rather than huddle under a duvet in despair at the prospect - probably with a brown paper bag over our heads !! - we decided why not celebrate having made it this far and get the family together for a "bit of a do" !
She has booked the restaurant & I am contributing the name place cards !
So on Saturday - when my husband's nephew came to stay so they could go to the first match of the season together - I bamboozled them into some slave labour on my mini production line !
I needed all that muscle as it was a mega Cuttlebug session - about a 120 runs through what with die cutting & embossing !
But in the end they rebelled & disappeared off to footie - leaving me to finish them off.
It was quite a production line !
Here they are all finished !
Hope my Aunt will like them too !
I did also make some birthday cards - but stupidly forgot to photograph them .. so you'll have to take my word for it !!
Anyway - have a great week & hope to see all the fun you are having on your desks this week ! Ali x
I likie your style Ali! What's your secret? Those place cards are gorgeous too. Have a great birthday.

They do indeed look totally engrossed in what they are doing! The place cards came out beautifully though-was that because of their help. or despite it, lol? Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #50 xx
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. Those are gorgeous and definitely worth all of your hard work (with some help!). My mum is 70 this year and I plan to get a mini book made for her - with photos of our farm/animals etc - was going to start it today, but business/housework got in the way. Oh well, there is tomorrow! The only advantage of the cooler weather is that I am happy to be in my craft room. Ali x #48
ReplyDeleteThat's a big old party there! They look great though and well done for getting help. #69

ReplyDeleteIt's odd, but as long as its repetitive, I can get my man to help...he likes the not thinking aspect of it. which is exactly why I help him in the joinery..he tells me what to do and I just get on with it! Funny arent we. Love the place names, what a fun do that's going to be. caught up a bit this morning, congrats and commiserations oer finishing the journal...and hurrah for the new creativity one...let the fun continue!
ReplyDeleteLove the production line. I had one doing my daughters wedding cards....but it was a one-man line...with just me! Lucky you being in Paris, I was house sitting two very hairy dogs! Have a great Crafty Week! Happy WOYWW?!
